but childhood friends are the ones worth keeping.


Because they know you so well through the baby language talks, toy fighting moments, hide-and-seek or ice-and-water games, and fire crackers blasting that they just DON'T JUDGE. Which friend would text you saying "Hey are you going to XXX's house later? This Chinese New Year won't be the same as every other year if you don't. Please come."

How to reject, you tell me.
The infrequent meet ups makes everything ever-so treasured.


Oh and on an unrelated topic, the converse is also true; please don't be too typical that it becomes entirely predictable. It gets boring. And -I'm sorry I have to use the word- lame. Well unless it is a good habit of course :)

Tenacious Sight

As cliche as this is going to sound... Life is just too short.


I probably got up from the wrong side of the bed this morning. Didn't start the day too good. But thankfully it progressed on relatively ok... So I woke up this morning to this line, "Did anything happen at 3am last night?"

"No, not that I remember anything. I was sleeping soundly. Why?"
"Someone left a note at our doorstep."



AHHH okay enough of details. Don't wanna start my grandma talk on it. From how we tried to uncover the mystery behind the note, how we freaked out, how we swore never to walk back alone, how we were actually afraid to pick the note up, how we got ready pepper spray, how we passed the note to the security guard, how I actually sanitized my hands after touching it, and to how we were dumb enough not to open the drawing which would have solved the problem. hahaha coz turns out, it was a frigging prank by the 'kawan kawan yang takde kerja buat'. HAHA.



Then, on the way to college... I caught a glimpse.... of a lady lying by the side of the road. From the awkward angle at which her body was sprawled plus the yellow cloth draped over her body... I could tell that she had passed on. Apparently she was in a pool of blood and there was a broken dustpan nearby. We believe it could've been a case of hit-and-run. She's the cleaner we see every morning diligently sweeping the pavements. She was doing us a favor and this is how we repay her act of selflessness? Malaysians! Stop speeding!!

up the wall.

It was more hectic last year, this time

with less sleep, and retarded challenges...

But maybe without the comfort of home,

without the presence of mummy and daddy everywhere,

without the luxury of having my HEALTHY meals prepared before me,

my immune system is dying.

or maybe because im growing older....

STOP SNEEZING.

This is so pointless, but I'm doing this while the entire world is asleep only because I'm awake at this hour struggling with SAT and someone insisted I revive this lil space before people presume I'm dead. SAT is supposed to have improved my vocabulary. But evidently, nothing changed. I STILL USE KIDDISH WORDS AND SPEAK LIKE A WELL GROWN CINAPEK.

I'm alive!

A lot has happened in the last two weeks. From the registration at Taylor's, extermination of cockroaches and ants, intro to studying in the States, SAT and TOEFL preps to buying my own meals and doing my own laundry (without a washing machine). To sum it all, it is T.I.R.I.N.G. Came home yesterday evening and slept for at least 12 hours. totalpigness.

Highlight of it all,

THIS.

Sooo... We came home one day to be greeted by an endless trail and huge lump or ants crawling all over a luggage. That was it. We HAD to do something about the cockroach and ants infestation. We took out ALL the drawers, wiped and washed everything, and mopped the floor. Trust me, it was like a war zone. Between the four of us and whatever else that was living within those same four walls.

The next picture may disgust you to the extent you'll never want to eat rice for quite some time.

Cockroach eggs, half a cockroach's body, some dead ants...

The minute you open your eyes in the morning or step into the toilet, you'll see at least two of them. And within one hour, we can kill at least 20. Of the 20, we get a variation of sizes; ranging from full-grown ones to babies. It's probably like a whole family tree. Fathermotherauntyunclegrandmasisterniecebrother etc.

As nasty and horrifying as it sounds, this whole cockroach thing is probably one of the most epic events throughout college life. To quote a housemate, "I'll remember this as one of the most memorable experience and at least now I have a funny story to tell my grandchildren." HAHAHAH. She's the one who uses a broom to whack cockroaches while cursing them. AHAHAHA laughdieme

Yupp, we got so desperate, we googled cockroaches.

Now that we've bought cockroach traps and ant poison, it's not that bad anymore. 5 of them coming out at once when we kick our shoes in the morning,... it doesn't happen anymore. Just occasional surprise visits XD The management is thinking of fumigating our place though :D First the pests, then the water heater emitted some plastic-smelling smoke while I was bathing (overheated i guess. i ran out of the toilet hahahah), then the balcony lights died and now the toilet lights are flickering.

We complain to the management so much, they recognize our faces and immediately know our unit number. I wonder what's the next thing that's going to die. Oh and the supporting plank underneath my bed fell off. HAHAH I must be too fat. Basically our unit is forever noisy. SORRY NEIGHBOURS! We conduct midnight exercising rituals HAHA

We tried catching sunset from the 20th floor.

I've never lived on high-rise buildings. So it's quite scary at times when I imagine what if I'm too fat and one day the floor beneath me gives way...

HAHA okay ignore that.

Till then, HOMEWORK!
